Teacher Appreciation Week {Day 3}

Oh man!  My computer is smokin' from all the purchasing I've been doing during the Teacher Appreciation Sale over at TpT.  Any success stories on your end?

I can't wait to put my super hero clip art to work on my new classroom décor set (coming this summer!), among the many MANY other clip art set I purchased :)

If you're looking for some suggestions for things you may need for the rest of the year, here are some resources I always used during the last few weeks of school:
I also just posted a plant interactive journal supplement to this unit.  I didn't get on the interactive journal band wagon until after I stopped teaching, but I would have LOVED using them!
{I loved ending my reading instruction on an author study.  It's a great way to have students apply all the skills they have learned throughout the year.  I also have a Chris Van Allsburg and Patricia Polacco author study available}
My FAVORITE writing unit of the year.  In this unit your students design and make their own board games in small groups and then write the "How To Play" directions for the game.  So much more fun than writing a "How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich" procedural narrative.  It was a perfect way to end the year because at the end of the unit we celebrated by playing the games!

While you're busy teaching (and buying during the sale) today, take a second to grab today's teacher appreciation freebie (available from noon today till noon tomorrow):

{This freebie offer has expired.  This product is now for purchase here.}
Just a simple game for students to practice identifying syllables.  But remember it's gone at noon tomorrow!
Hope you're feeling appreciated! :)
